About Me

Joined the weekly Southern Courier newspaper covering the Civil Rights Movement from May 1965 until May 1968 after covering the funeral of Martin Luther King Jr. Came to Newsday a daily newspaper on Long Island, NY was there from 19761 through December 2008. As a photojournalist I have had the opportunities to photograph and experience our greater community including the lives of Native Americans across the USA; Undocumented Refugees from war in El Salvador; an earthquake in Mexico City, Volcanic eruption in Armero, Colombia; the first year of acculturation for a family from Pereira, Col. moving to Deer Park, NY; the challenges of a traditional farming community of Manorville, NY as it was being transformed by growing development; the last years in life of Walter Hudson, the 1000 pound man who became the subject of unsought celebrity; the list could go on.. Recently, I have become an enthusiast creator of Audio-Slide Shows for web use on a wide variety of local institutions on Long Island, and see that as my new career.
